The article

Elizabeth Warren Says Trump Made '28,000+' Trades, More Than Congress Combined: ‘Stock Trading…Should Be Illegal’ Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) called for a sweeping ban on stock trading by senior government officials, arguing that the president and members of Congress should serve the public rather than their personal investment portfolios. Warren Says Trump Outtraded Congress On Saturday, in a post on X, Warren said, "The President vs. every member of Congress COMBINED. Guess who made more personal financial trades? Donald Trump — with 28,000+ trades." She added, "Stock trading by top government officials should be illegal—no owning, buying, or selling stocks." In the accompanying video, Warren argued that the president, vice president, Cabinet officials and members of Congress should be prohibited from trading stocks because they may have access to information unavailable to the public. "It’s crazy," Warren said, referring to the fact that senior government officials can legally trade stocks while in office. She pointed to a graph comparing securities trades by the House and Senate with Trump’s reported activity, arguing that his total exceeded the two chambers combined. Warren Demands Ban on Officials’ Stock Trading "Donald Trump and every member of Congress should be working for the American people, not for their own personal stock portfolio," Warren said. She concluded by calling for a comprehensive prohibition, saying, "It is time to ban this kind of thing once and for all." The President vs. every member of Congress COMBINED. (NASDAQ:SPCX) bonds on Aug. 18, two days before signing a policy aimed at expanding U.S. commercial space-launch capacity. The White House said third-party institutions independently managed his investment portfolio. Trump also purchased $15,000 to $50,000 in Everforth Inc. (NYSE:EFOR) shares on June 4 and sold some shares in July. The defense company subsequently secured three government contracts worth $293 million combined, including U.S. Army AI research, health IT modernization and a SUNet contract extension. Push To Ban Stock Trading by Government Officials Earlier this month, the Senate blocked the Republican-backed Stop Insider Trading Act 53-47. Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) criticized the bill as a "permission slip for corruption." Last month, Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-Va.) introduced the "Sell Your Stocks or Step Down Act," which sought to ban the president, vice president, lawmakers and senior government officials and their families from trading stocks, digital assets and prediction market contracts. Unlike other proposals, it also targeted President Donald Trump. Read Also: Trump’s Rejected Fed Pick Joins Treasury: Can Bitcoin and XRP Benefit?
