SambaNova’s SN50 Chips Will Power Supermicro’s New Inference Racks Super Micro will work with SambaNova to develop SN50 inference racks that operate alongside Nvidia GPUs as part of its Data Center Building Block Solutions portfolio. The collaboration initially plans for 10,000 SN50 RDU chips, SambaNova’s reconfigurable dataflow units, to build and sell AI disaggregated inference systems that include both RDUs and GPUs. The systems pair Nvidia GPUs, which read the prompt, with SambaNova chips built to write the response quickly. Supermicro will integrate, test, deliver and support the systems, including on-site service, and SambaNova engineers will help tune models on the SN50 and support deployments. The companies will start with neoclouds and sovereign clouds, then expand to enterprises that run AI in their own data centers. "Our collaboration with SambaNova expands our broad DCBBS portfolio by enabling heterogeneous architectures that integrate GPU computing with specialized inference acceleration," said Charles Liang, Super Micro’s president and CEO.
